Venue for Mubarak's trial undecided judge
The venue for the trial of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his sons Alaa and Gamal has not been decided, Chief Justice of the Cairo Court of Appeal el- Sayyed Abdel-Aziz Omar said Wednesday.
The place for the trial will be announced in the coming days, official MENA news agency said.
The trial is due to start on Aug. 3 at the Cairo criminal court and is supposed to be broadcast live by the state TV channels.
As the trial comes near, Mubarak is severely depressed and refused to eat, state media reported Tuesday.
Deputy Health Minister Abdel-Hamid Abazza said Mubarak completely refused to eat and just had some juice. He has lost a lot of weight and becomes weak, he added.
Mubarak and former interior minister Habib el-Adli face the same charges of killing protestors during the nationwide demonstrations that toppled the former government in February.
Some 846 people died and more than 6,000 were injured in the protests from Jan. 25 to Feb. 11, according to official media reports.
Mubarak has been hospitalized since April in a Sharm el-Sheikh hospital.
